About Me

My photo
Richard Gibbs
I have been a resident of South Florida for more than 25 years. I spent a large part of my adolescent years in Florida bass fishing in the Everglades. Between fishing excursions and attending school at the University of Florida in Gainesville, I found time to earn a bachelor's degree in public relations. I'm a former travel journalist who then entered the field of public relations and communications, working for several public relations agencies in the Miami area. I am a senior public affairs specialist with Florida Power & Light Company. Prior to that, I held a position as senior director of communications at the Everglades Foundation. I was also the public relations and public affairs manager at DHL's U.S. headquarters in Plantation, Florida, where I focused on labor communications issues, regional community affairs and publicizing corporate social responsibility efforts among others. Please note that views and opinions expressed here are 100 percent my own, made from all natural ingredients with no artificial fillers or preservatives. Wait a minute, that's on the label of my orange juice bottle, but you get my drift!
